Changes to our Surgery Boundaries
The boundary of our surgery catchment area has changed and now no longer includes addresses in Kent. Patients registered in Kent will remain on our register and new family members within those households will be accepted on onto our register. However, new households will need to register with another practice. The NHS website can provide a list of alternate practices.
Why has this happened?
Northiam Surgery is in the Sussex healthcare region and it has become increasingly difficult in recent times to refer patients who live in Kent to the relevant Kent hospitals and medical facilities. This adds a risk in complex cases and we have taken the decision to draw the boundary along the county border to ensure we can continue to provide the highest level of care to all our patients.
The new map is below shows the new and old boundaries. Websites that let you check your post code may not have yet been updated but the new boundary is in force.
