Your Appointment
We believe that face-to-face appointment with your own doctor is the best way to deliver high quality care. We therefore run personal lists and whenever possible we will always book your appointment with your own doctor. Obviously if they are not available we will book you in to see one of the other doctors.
Standard appointments are 10 minutes in duration. During you appointment you are entitled to:
- A Chaperone who would be present during a consultation or examination
- An interpreter or non-English speakers or those with hearing impairment to help with your consultation with the doctor or nurse
Please let the Receptionist know if either is required when you book your appointment.
The practice will not tolerate any violent or abusive behaviour towards any of the doctors, nurses or other practice staff. If there is any such occurrence, the patient will be removed from the practice list immediately and no further treatment will be given.
Appointment Reminders
You will be reminded of your appointment by text message the day before. This message contains a link which will allow you to cancel the appointment should you need to.

Out of Hours
All calls to the surgery between 6.30pm and 8.30am during the week and at weekends are dealt with by the 111 service.
They will take your details and will go through a questionnaire to decide on what is the most appropriate course of action for your health problem.
The options will be either to give advice, ask a doctor or nurse to contact you or to advise you to visit Accident & Emergency.
If you need to see a doctor they will either see you at a primary care centre (the Rye Memorial Care Centre or the Conquest Hospital).
Or will come and visit you depending on what the problem is.
Emergencies
The Practice will always try and respond immediately to emergencies. There are, however, cases where it would be better for the patient or carer to call an Ambulance directly and these include:
- Collapse
- Patients with chest pain lasting for more than 15 minutes
- Obvious major injuries
